Description

CYCLE OF THE WEREWOLF

(Land of Enchantment, 1983) 11" x 14.5" pen and inks on board

Bernie Wrightson, who teamed with famed author Stephen King on Creepshow, and also drew the illustrations for the unexpurgated The Stand, detailed this hand colored scene based on the month of DECEMBER. The project later evolved into the film Silver Bullet. This superb illustration hails from a high point in a great artist's career, just following his work on Frankenstein, as can be seen by the exquisite inking.

The painting served as the color illustration in all editions for the month of, DECEMBER.
