Polar Boy by Chris Schweizer

Since I joined the amazingly talented Chris Schweizer's Patreon, I have made it my goal to get him to draw a lot of Legion characters for my art rewards. I've begun the series with the best group of second-stringers ever, The Legion of Substitute Heroes! This time I had Chris draw the original leader of the Subs: Polar Boy! Brek Bannin can create cold and ice, but his control over those abilities was poor at first, so he was rejected the first time he tried out for membership in the Legion of Super-Heroes. But Brek didn't let that deter him from being a superhero, and he founded the Subs. Years later, Brek had gained far greater control over his abilities, and he was able to join the Legion of Super-Heroes, and even eventually become team leader. Chris captured Polar Boy perfectly here, with his awkward stance and red cheeks. This is definitely the version of Polar Boy who got rejected all of those years ago. Thanks, Chris!
