Description

I have 3 sketchbooks that I have been bringing to conventions for over 10 years. When I first met Alan a few years ago I asked him to draw Yellow Jacket in my Avengers book. Last year he graced the pages of my Captain America book that only has a few pages left after 16 years of con sketches. This year I asked Alan if he could draw a Gatchaman sketch in my last book. I am sometimes hesitant when asking veteran artist if they are familiar with this cartoon as a lot I have asked were not and didn't show much interest in attempting a sketch. Alan had no such resovations. He knew of the show and even though I discovered I left my reference at home I was able to bring up pictures on my phone to show Alan while he drew. I was surprised by how much time and detail he put into this one, even adding tonal shading as he rubbed his pencils with his fingers! Thank you Mr Davis for adding your vision to this beloved character for me!
