�� Lela Dowling and Frank Cirocco set up their Pop Daddy Vintage Collectibles booth at Silicon Valley Comic Con. Among all the nostalgia items, they brought a few dozens of their art pieces for sale. I love Lela's solo work, but was excited to find this Xxxenophile collaboration with Phil Foglio. This sex comic book approached the subject with gender equality and consent uppermost in mind. Participants were willing partners in the various acts and behaviors depicted. Phil created clever plot twists. The one standout in my mind is an angel and devil who observe the couple who are fated to create a monster on this one night. After watching multiple sex acts in various positions, the devil feels triumphant until the angel points out the couple never had vaginal intercourse and the monster is not to be. It usually featured three short stories each issue. Phil wrote and penciled all the stories and sought out his friends and fellow artists to ink them. Many were working their own independent comics and these were written up each issue. Phil covered many genres, most often science fiction, fantasy, and supernatural themes This opening page of "I Swing the Body Electric" features a hunky Space Marines unit after a battle. The female cyborg Mariko is injured and is getting a new body. The utilitarian body is seen in panels three and four. Mariko reappears in a new metallic humanoid body on the next page and proceeds to enjoy time with each of the fellows.
