Description

This piece by Powers illustrates the story Kovrigin's Chronicles. The 1980 Macmillan hardback book actually contains two novels by Vadim Shefner (the other being "Unman"). Powers did the art for both stories that share the book's cover. Looking closely, I believe he painted both images as a single painting and then painted a thin "line" that divides the two as seen on the cover (they seem to share brush strokes). He evidently later cut the two apart and sold them separately (I remember seeing the "other half" for sale in Jane Frank's catalog).

Anyway, a cool little gem!
