Description

Frank's gift for dynamic storytelling is in full flourish on this layout for a double page spread from DK2. Amazingly, this may have more rendering in it than the final inked page, as Frank pared down the various forms and figures almost to the point of becoming ideograms. Consider this photo a placeholder until I can get a full scan of this massive 18x24" layout. Pencil & marker.

This is great! Frank will often go through dozens of variations of a page/scene before arriving at the final layout. Always stripping away until he gets to the most essential elements in his finished art.
