McCorkindale, Bruce - Recreation of Al Williamson's Valor #2 Cover

Bruce McCorkindale re-creation of Al Williamson's cover art to VALOR #2, minus the logo and trade dress. Bruce filled in any missing art. Pen, brush and ink on 13 X 20" bristol board.

Bruce commented about this recreation, "Al has a very distinctive touch - there are similarities with a lot of other guys, but it really feels unique once you get in there and start trying to re-create it! In general, detailed works don't scare me (although multiple crosshatchings can be a mind-bender), but the hardest ones to capture are the ones with a certain distinct personality. Williamson can be tight, loose, and a mixture of both...the trick is capturing that feel. Hopefully, I came close!"

Since I had Bruce recreate the "live" area of the cover drawing it is actually considerably larger than the similar area on Al Williamson's original cover.
