Octobriana (2017)

Alternative comics genius John T. Howard's take on the open source character, the heroine of the Russian Revolution, Octobriana.

I first came across Octobriana in Bryan Talbot's 'The Adventures of Luther Arkwright'. She was created by Petr Sadecký, based on the artistic works of Bohumil Konečný and Zdeněk Burian. According to the 1971 book 'Octobriana and the Russian Underground' by Sadecký, Octobriana was created in the 1960s by a group of dissident Russian artists calling themselves Progressive Political Pornography (PPP). This was, of course, a hoax, but John was able to return her to her roots.
