Description

Ryan Sook and I originally planned this Common Elements foray during Silicon Valley Comic Con 2018. Alas, Ryan took ill (food poisoning, I think) shortly after the start of the show, and he didn't have the opportunity to draw the piece.

Flash forward a few months to San Francisco Comic Con, where Ryan set up as an unannounced guest. Not only did he remember the request from the earlier show, but he made certain that he completed the hookup. Said Ryan, "I really enjoyed drawing these two. I kind of wish I'd had something bigger to draw on, because I might have done even more with them."

You don't hear me complaining, do you?

As for the common element here, hard-rocking music aficionados will recognize that both Tesla and Iron Maiden are the names of classic rock bands. I've seen Tesla perform in concert a couple of times, most recently as the opening act for Scorpions a few years back. I've not seen Iron Maiden live, but I hear they put on a terrific show.

So do Tesla Strong and Valda, when drawn by Ryan Sook.
