Description1998- When Perez came back to the Avengers with volume 3 I was overjoyed. This issue took them out to space which is my favorite place for them to do their thing-plus the layout of this cover is so darn good this has been my favorite cover of this era. I missed buying this from the previous owner so when it hit auction I knew I wanted to go for it hard. I was even prepared to sell my cover from issue 2 if it went too high (as I really wanted other items in this auction too) but luckily it stayed reasonable and I was able to nabbed it!Here is part of the CL write up-George Perez is one of the most beloved artists in the history of comic books and his two tenures with the Avengers in the 1970s and 1990s and a big part of the reason for that following. This cover for Avengers #7 (1998) is a Perez extravaganza of the first order, packed with the detailed characters and backgrounds he's well known for. The Avengers battle the Lunatic Legion in outer space. The Avengers are represented by Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Warbird (Carol Danvers), Thor, Wonder Man, Firestar, and Justice. The Lunatic Legion are a group of Kree insurgents who first appeared in Captain Marvel #37 (1975). Note: An acetate logo and tradedress overlay is included with this lot Social/Sharing |

George Perez will always be remembered for super detailed, extremely intricate mass crowd (battle) scenes like this outstanding cover. very cool pick up. congrats!

Congrats on this one Kirk, one of the nicest of the Perez Avengers vol 3 covers! I was the second owner of this one when Profiles in History sold many of these covers for Mankuta back in 2002. Fyi- there was no logo overlay when I bought any of these Perez covers, they were probably made for one of the later owners.

Kirk its a great cover, so congratulations on getting it. I was thinking of going for this, but now after reading your write up, I am glad i opted against doing so, as i would have hated to have run this up when it means so much to you.

Magnificent Perez work. It's filled of little battles all together in a big huge one and on the back Ms. Marvel mourning. Al Vey is a perfect partner in crime. Avengers Assemble pick!

Congrats, Kirk! This cover image stands out to me when I think Perez. IMO definitely one of this best! The Avengers in all out action in the incomparable Perez style - great stuff!
