The strip Mieleke Melleke Mol is what we call a "Ketjes "strip. Aimed at the younger reader in which mostly in one page a little gag is made and wherein adults are mostly the object of ridicule or the bully hits the dust.About the author.
Dirk Stallaert

Dirk Stallaert is a real chameleon in the comics world. Able to draw in several styles, he has assisted artists like Jean-Pol ('Kramikske', 'Sammy') and Marc Sleen ('Nero') on their series. Stallaert drew his first cartoons for Knack magazine in 1975. He continued this line of work for Kuifje, the Dutch equivalent of Tintin magazine. Stallaert returned to Knack in the early 1980s with 'Ridder Digest'. He then became active for the daily press. For Het Gazet van Antwerpen, he drew 'De Strangers' in 1985 and, most notably, 'Kitty' along with Patrick Vermeir from 1986 to 1991. In the early 1990s he cooperated with Hec Leemans on the 'Nino' series, about a little orphan. From 1992 to 2002 he was mainly the assistant of Marc Sleen, but at the same time he produced 'Het Geheim van de Kousenband' (also known as 'De Strip van 7'). From 2003 he is the artist on Merho's 'Kiekeboe' series.
