Description

My second piece of art from John Romita, Sr.. Obtained at the 2002 MegaCon in Orlando, Florida. While John was no longer doing free sketches at this point, he was willing to do a sketch in exchange for a donation to A.C.T.O.R. (A Commitment To Our Roots,)which later became the Hero Initiative.

John had these glossy 7 X 10 prints featuring his tonal pencil art to a Spider-Man crawling down a web illustration on his table. He was signing them and giving them out for free. I asked if he would do the same pose for me, complete with tonal pencil for $50.00. I expected to be shot down. To my surprise and delight, he said, "Yes."

And, yes, I once again got some Yancy Street thug named Stan Lee to sign it as well. Have no idea why! :-)

Yep, that's him! I heard they let him do cameos in the Marvel movies because he was related to the publisher or something like that!!

Absolutely love this piece, it's Romita's tonal work that puts it over the top, (I don't have any JRSR but at least now I know what I want!), congrats!
