DescriptionSOLD AT AUCTION FOR $11,801!11x17" artboard has eight panels of Bruce Timm's original art for page 46 of "Batman Adventures: Mad Love" published by DC Comics in Feb. 1994 as a prestige format comic book that explained the origin of popular antihero Harley Quinn (out of DC Comics continuity). In eight panels, Harley is seen in all but two, both gloating over having Batman chained and about to be dropped into a tank of piranhas and despondent over the gnawing doubt of Joker's true feelings for her. Batman graces two panels and though immobile, he delivers a gut-punch to Harley, sowing the aforementioned doubt and then talking his way out of a sure death by telling her Joker will never believe she killed Batman. Text is stat paste-overs as is page number at bottom center. "Mad Love" title at top margin in ink along w/three handwritten page numbers. Tiny corner crease at bottom right and some scattered handling wear to artboard, but art remains clean and Exc. Original art from this seminal issue are highly desirable and rarely come to market. The last sales example we know of was back in 2015, when page 10 sold for $8,365. Nearly half of that page was comprised of stats and its content was far less dynamic than the page being offered here. If you want a show-stopper published piece of art featuring both Batman and Harley Quinn, this page has it all. Wonderful example of original art by Harley Quinn's co-creator, showcasing a range of emotions. Social/Sharing |

Man, you're not kidding. Absolute GRAIL. If this only goes for $8,500 I'll eat my copy of Mad Love. If Jim Lee covers are selling for $20k, this should fetch every bit of that and more.
