Infinity Countdown #1 pg 28 by Aaron Kuder (ft Guardians of the Galaxy’s Groot)

1st of 2 back to back Guardians Groot pages I’m posting tonight by Mr. Aaron Kuder. I really dig Aaron’s work and I’m glad for him that his profile has been increasing of late, including getting tagged as one of Marvel’s new batch of Young Guns, earlier this year.

In this book the cosmic Gardener has been possessed and is battling it out with the Guardians when baby/little Groot jumps in and cures him of his brainwashing. Here, after snapping out of it, the Gardener restores Groot to his former self, albeit with a big change - the ability to say more than “I am Groot”.

Love the bottom big panel in how you can make out Groot in the ball of energy with Rocket then being blinded by the light! Aaron’s added ink wash to his repertoire and you see some of that here. Nice storytelling, and for the big splash reveal on the next page, click left!
