Description

38" x 28". Original acrylic painting on board. Published in 1979 by Bantam Books. Interior full-page illustration.

This beautiful painting of Gorta The Witch, depicts the scene where she is about to transform into a hideous beast and engage in combat with the band of heroes. In this painting she is standing in front of the great throne upon which she sits.

In 1979, Bantam Books published URSHURAK, written and illustrated by the Brothers Hildebrandt. There were roughly 15 acrylic paintings and 40 black and white finished pencil pieces. Upon publication the book immediately went to the New York Times bestseller list where it stayed for approximately six weeks, making URSHURAK one of the fantasy classics.
