DescriptionI read this very fun mini-serie late (I believe last year) and enjoyed it tremendously mostly because of the fantastic art provided by David Williams and Gary Martin (on 3 of the 4 issues sadly even though the fill in by Khun was great and in tone with the serie).I have been following David’s art for years now and however incredibly talented he is as an artist and storyteller, his interior art remains too rare. Here we have the b-rate (or is that c?) Boomerang facing the pack, Alex, Julie and Katie. The first 3 panels really give a splashy feeling to the whole page and I love how the boomerangs and the energy balls guides the reader’s eyes throughout (as well as the triangle shapes of the panel themselves). Great, fluid storytelling. Now about the art itself, my favorite part is how Katie’s hair is pulled back by the force of her energy balls and how her face is lit by them. I also love how she seems to be enjoying herself a lot. She is, after all, a kid and the youngest of the team. David really enhanced the b-rate super-villain vibe by drawing him a bit goofy. His body language while throwing his boomerangs in the before last panel is excellent. He has had enough of being pushed around by mere kids and he is giving all he has in this last throw. Great page all around by a fantastic artist and storyteller. Social/Sharing |

Great battle page! So much movement in and through the panels! Great interior example by Williams. Congrats!
