Description

Offered here is a "Twice-up" (large art) page drawn by Al Feldstein from the first issue of EC's Modern Love title, published in 1949, a year before EC began publishing the finest horror and crime comics in the history of the medium, with Feldstein as a very key contributor. Nina meets Dan at a dance and the two hit it off, but she warns him that strange things are happening around them. If this story was done a couple of years later for Tales From the Crypt, one of two would probably end up in a meat-grinder. Feldstein's art was always nice to look at and he certainly knew how to draw attractive women.

All about Al
As demonstrated by this work, Al Feldstein was an extremely talented artist. However, Feldstein's contributions to EC reached far beyond his artistic contributions. He wrote virtually every classic EC horror and science fiction story during the company's glory years in the early 1950s. Feldstein then spent the rest of his career as the editor of Mad, the nation's leading humor publication that pretty much established the benchmark for what was funny for the entire Baby Boom generation, influencing such important comedy institutions as The National Lampoon, Saturday Night Live and The Daily Show.
