I have these for over 35 years but only today found our what they were . They came from the files of fred Voges who designed paper premiums (and helped invent the Modern American pop up book in the 1930s). These are color guides for Jack Warren's humorous western series that ran in early Blue Bolts- these are from issue 1! Close as I can tell Fred was reformatting them to pitch as a premium booklet. The coloring seems to be the same as the comic book- my guess is they just took the original color guides and added the working model done with an extra stated copy of those sections .

These are photostats that have been hand colored with watercolors- they have been pasted down with rubber cement to make a booklet. They are in great shape for their age. You don't see a lot of Golden age color guides!

I am not sure if the premium booklet was ever produced but all of these were published in Blue Bolt 1
