Description

The Prince and The Prole..

Some typically subtle satire from Mills and Talbot. At the time, I was disappointed by the more prosaic aspects of book 5, seeing it as retreat from the epic fantasy and steam-punk gothic of Books 3 and 4. Now I've a better idea of what Pat Mills was up to; Nemesis The Warlock is the ultimate Mills satire strip, turning to whatever raises his ire at any particular time; in 1985, that would be the British Royal family...

No one does detail like 1980's Bryan - it's the weed - and here the script really plays to his strengths, with a spot-on Lady-Di-a-like in Candida, and walk on cameos from Nostradamus de Torquemada, Murcalla de Torquemada, and even Private Eye's Lunchtime O'Booze... It's a Game of Thrones!

I had visions for years, of Torquemada really looking like Prince Charles, after realising what Bryan was referring to.
