My latest All-Star Squadron continuation commission - issue #85, art by Craig Cermak, based on the Roy Thomas-written Avengers #72.

This has been in progress for a while, but it was well worth the wait - Craig's work is absolutely fantastic (and I hope I'm not alone in detecting a bit of Mac Raboy influence here).

As far as the story goes --- this is the first part of the 'Deathbolt trilogy': the Guardian and Air Wave are joined at the Perisphere by Phantom Lady and Doll Man from Washington, as well as the Spectre, who's troubled by an apparent reduction in his powers in recent weeks and who wishes to speak to the Squadron's co-chairs. Captain Marvel Junior also arrives from Fawcett City, hoping that the team may have news of Captain Marvel, who has been missing for several days --- only for the Perisphere to be assaulted by Deathbolt (renewing his attempt to infiltrate the All-Star's HQ, as seen earlier in Young All-Stars #15).

To the villain's surprise, he's able to subdue the heroes, and then finds and steals the 'Hammer Of Thor', which the All-Stars had recovered, seemingly de-powered, off-panel following the events of the Squadron's second Annual, before setting off to deliver it to his mystery partner. The villains' plans will be revealed in issue #86, and the identity of mystery partner in issue #87 (both already posted, given the timing of the arrivals of both of those covers).
