Framed Acrylic on canvas 24" x 36".Two Army Air Corps officers and a friend make an unofficial count of returning B-17 Flying Fortresses at an air base somewhere in England, 1944. The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was the symbol of America's bombing might and was considered one of the major weapons of WWII. Carrying thousands of American flight crewman into battle, the B-17 dominated the bombing of Germany's heartland throughout the war. Flying through flak and the dangerous England fog, many Flying Fortresses suffered severe damage and were still able to bring their crews home. Please contact us for price.
