Description

These two butt heads with each other as often as they war with their arch-enemy, G.I. Joe. This was one of four pieces I had prepared for the recent G.I. Joe Collectors Platoon Show in Long Branch, ON. Taking inspiration from the awesome composition Neal Adams conceived for his 1970s Green Lantern-Green Arrow cover, I pitted the noble Destro against his leader and main source of annoyance, the egotistical Cobra Commander. Rendered on hand-trimmed 11 x 17" Canison Mixed Media Paper with...well, mixed media, this is the first time I've ever sketched either of these antagonists. I watched the show as a kid, but it was my brother who was a hardcore Joe fan.
