Wally Wood’s T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents 2, sequence 4, page 2

Here’s a dream piece for me. I loved the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents in the Silver Age because of the great art; Wood, Adkins, Kane Crandall and superb uniform designs. When David Singer brought the Agents back in the 80’s he followed the same mode as the original by getting that decades best artists to join his effort. Now anyone who has read the really good T.H.U.N.D.E. R. Agents Companion book by Jon B. Cooke knows how that effort turned out with writers and artists frustrated and Singer in court. But those issues aside, the five published issues had some great artwork. This page is a fine example of that, Dave Cockrum with Murphy Anderson on one of my favorite characters. I thought Dan Adkins design was wonderful and Murphy does great justice to Guy Gilbert with his incredible inks. As a huge fan of Mr. Anderson I am delighted to finally own something he took his brush to.
