Description

Widely regarded as one of the best Italian illustrators of the last century, Walter Molino (1915-1997) was the cover artist of the famous weekly newspaper "La Domenica del Corriere" for almost 30 years, from 1941 till the end of the '60s.
He also worked for the popular weekly magazine "Grand Hotel", for which, from 1946, he realized both comic stories and illustrations. The latter ones were often inspired by real events, involving movie (and then TV) stars of that era.

Thanks to fellow collector and CAF member Paolo Recano now I know that this illustration was published in Grand Hotel #950 (Sept. 1964) and depicts Irish actor Richard Harris (1930-2002) and former Queen of Persia Soraya (1932-2001) victims of an accident - luckily without any serious consequences - during a movie production in Venice.
The movie, titled "I Tre Volti" (The Three Faces), was then released in Italy the next year.
