Description

The 90's may have seen a gluttony of variants and special edition comics, but they were never boring. 1996 brought us the Amalgam line of comics. An imprint that combined some of the most popular characters from both Marvel and DC. While there were several interesting mash-ups in that initial 12 issue run, none captured the imagination and comic audience like the amalgamation of DC's Batman and Marvel's Wolverine.

At the suggestion, Derec Donovan jumped at the chance to add Logan Wayne to my theme. Derec was definitely the right man for the job, as he's worked on just about every character imaginable for the big two. One of my favorite parts about this piece is that Derec added the Iron Lantern armor onto the throne. Iron Lantern was the amalgamation of Marvel's Iron Man and DC's Green Lantern. It was great to meet Derec at MegaCon and pick this up in person!

Wow, you were really reaching deep into your theme bag for this idea buddy! I still remember buying all those Amalgam books when they came out. Anyway, a fun and interesting choice that was well executed. Congrats!

Oh yeah, perfect addition with that Iron Lantern helmet! Derec is the best!
