Description

It's been a couple of years since I got my first Golden age commission (The Invaders and Liberty Legion, plus some associated Timely heroes, based on the cover for All-Star Squadron #31) done --- and since then I've really been focusing on my All-Star Squadron continuation project.

But the Timely heroes are firm favourites, so I thought they deserved another outing - and who better to do it that the Fraims, who did such a spectacular job on the previous one (and on several All-Star Squadron covers since)?

I can't help but wonder whether, had this actually seen print, some of the characters and plots which later appeared in All-Star Squadron might have cropped up at Marvel in the 1970s - imagine the Liberty Legion facing the threat of the Flying Eye, secretly a project created by Professor Phineas Horton? Or if the team might have clashed with Deathbolt, Cyclotron, Amazing Man and/or the Real American?

I guess we'll never know...
