Description

This was a mini-comic I commissioned nanihoo to do in the lead-up to Father's Day. Setting and dialog were thought up by me.

On Earth-27B, DC Comics exists as a comic company owned and funded by Oliver Queen (who I've said is a villain on this world and the equivalent of Lex Luthor and Donald Trump). People believe DC is Queen's vanity project that publishes comic about straight, white male versions of heroes like Snow Owl, Ultimate Man, and Supervalkyrie. "Green Arrow" is believed to be his self insert and a blatant attempt to mock the legacy of Raymond Begay, a.k.a. Brave Bow. This is his revenge on the deceased Raymond for all the protests and lawsuits he launched against Queen Industries.

Roy Begay was told of "Justice League: Cry for Justice," but initially laughed it off until someone showed him the last issue. Even though it was "Lian Harper" who died, Roy took it very poorly seeing what was essentially his daughter's dead body.

Year later, one of Lian Begay's friends blindly purchased "Heroes in Crisis" #1 not aware of the story inside. Otherwise he wouldn't have let her read it. Lian reacted just as badly as Roy did even though "Arsenal" was a whitewashed caricature of her dad.

Imagine how they'd react when they learn the DCU's an alternate Earth and these people are real?

Nanihoo did such an amazing job on this and my favorite details are the exhaustion and tears on Roy's face in the first panel. And look how he's holding Lian's hand! Also the shirt he's wearing in that scene belonged to his dad.
