Description

Concept drawing used in THE THREE CABALLEROS (1945). Here we see Aurora Miranda the cookie vendor from Brazil, whom Donald promptly falls in love with. He joins Aurora and her friends in a long production number that combines live action and animation not used much since the old Alice films. Live actors perform on a stage in front of the projected action of the cartoon for the technicolor camera to record both. The synchronization of movement between the actors and the cartoon characters is right on target. Art is in graphite with blue pencil highlights on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Images are 4" and 5" in size. Underneath is found the reduced page published in the March 13, 1945 issue of PIC MAGAZINE. Also found on a movie still superimposed on a Mexican movie poster.
My guess is that this is from the prolific hand of Hank Porter.
