DescriptionBeing born in the 70's, I was thrust into collecting comics during the 1980's and was exposed to a great decade of Wolfman/Perez, Secret Wars, and fun Batman and Spider-man stories.My love and appreciation for Joe Kubert was something that developed like a fine wine. As my interest and knowledge grew, I began to really love Joe's war comics. I dreamed of owning a page for a while but never a cover. Well, it happened. I'm very thankful. This may be my first and last cover by the Great JOE--I'm okay with that since it is one of my favorite covers done by Joe. I love the emotion and sacrifice on this cover. I love emotive pieces! Really nice - a small thing but notice the way the word balloon text emphasizes the feeling / certain words in the dialogue.

Wow! What a great Kubert cover! Packed with so much detail! And yet, Kubert never forgets to pack his stuff with real emotion as well! Look at those kids and that GI--So expressive! Massive score!
