DescriptionWhere would Spidey be if it were not for the infamous "Burglar". He was the catalyst that shifted Pete's focus and made him understand that with great power comes great responsibility. This cover is a snapshot from that iconic page where Spidey tracks him down after Uncle Ben dies. Mike is a superstar artist and Ive specifically enjoyed his Captain America work. He did a fantastic job on this cover and for some reason I get lost in the Burglar's jacket. The shading and the folds are just amazing. (And Im glad to check off "The Burglar" from my Spidey character list which is a relief).I take it we dont flip through AF 15 much but I thought this would be a great opportunity to show the actual page where Spidey fights the Burglar and then finds out he could've prevented Uncle Ben's murder if he had intervened during the robbery. I find it amazing that the Burglar has more or less remained anonymous all these years since his debut and I prefer it that way. Keeping him nameless helps deepen the general lesson that the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. And Pete's been bearing that burden ever since... Awesome Spidey cover Riz! I totally agree that “the Burglar” is probably the most overlooked of Spidey’s key villains. Congrats!

So this is where this cover ended up! Cool, I always loved it since Perkins first showed it to me after drawing it, for the very reason that "the burglar" can technically be considered Spidey's first foe, so I think it's pretty special to have him featured on an actual cover!

Love the description, Riz, and this really is a great looking homage to THE key sequence in Spider-Man's history. Totally agree on the folds/shading in the jacket and the overal tonal work is top notch. Congrats!

Very nice cover and I love the description too. Even on this cover the Burglar's face is obscured, preserving his anonymity.
