GRAIL ALERT!

I'm a HUGE Avengers fan going waaaay back... and as I write this I'm 55... so I'm old, lol

There are 5 or 6 issues that mean the world to me and Avengers #84 is right at the top of that list. It's in the prime of the incredible Thomas/Buscema/Palmer run and features one of my favorite characters... The Black Knight!

It always looked like Roy really enjoyed to write stories like this, and it certainly is evident that Big John LOVED the Black Knight. Just look at the Splash page of this issue... maybe the greatest Splash he ever drew! (Not to mention that the Black Knight was suddenly a regular member of the team on John's memorable 80's run.)

The art on this issue is, for me, the zenith of the Buscema/Palmer team and I just couldn't be happier to add this page to my collection.

Wow.

GREAT page, congrats, Larry! I was a big fan of the THomas/Buscema/Palmer run too. Adolescent memories...how sweet it is!

Congrats, Larry - your excitement is clear in your description! Not hard to see why! Some sweet action oriented storytelling on display with that 9 panel layout. John Buscema really could do no wrong! Congrats, again!

Great action page by a supreme artistic team! You are right, the Black Knight was just great, and his fight here with Arkon is thrilling!
