Circa 2014.A note from the artist "'Lightning' shows lightning striking around Launch Pad 39A as STS-8/ Shuttle Challenger was waiting for launch. I was at Kennedy Space Center for that launch and was soaking wet from the rain that night. The mood was glum because everybody at the Press Site was expecting the launch to be scrubbed. Fortunately, after a short delay, Challenger lifted off on the FIRST NIGHT LAUNCH OF THE PROGRAM. It was an unforgettable experience!" Social/Sharing |
