Description

A classic Chesley Bonestell-inspired image by famed and influential British space illustrator David A. Hardy.

First published in an issue of the Australian space and sci-fi magazine 'Vision of Tomorrow' (1969-70), this painting of an expedition to 433 Eros in the asteroid belt was apparently also reprinted in an issue of 'Science Fiction Monthly', April 1974. It formed the basis for the cover illustration of the book Hardy wrote with Patrick Moore 'Challenge of the Stars' (1972), the British version of Bonestell's collaborations with Willy Ley and Werner von Braun.
