Another wonderful (if not provocative) painting by Jonathan Wayshak. Not much background on this from Jon, other than it was done as an editorial illustration for an article in High Society magazine. He told me that the only information he found in his files was a note with the single word �PRISON� on it. Read into that what you will. Heh-heh!

This was another piece Jon had brought along with him when dropping off my commission piece. I immediately fell in love with the color scheme and the linework on the three characters. To decorate the background of such a bizarre scene with floating hearts is just such a Wayshak thing to do. It�s like the front of the most disturbing Valentine�s Day card ever. LOL!

Anyway, piece is standard A3 on heavy illustration board, executed with inks, acrylics, and colored pencils. If anyone happens to have an old collection of High Society mags or knows the article (or issue) this was used for, I would love to get that background information.

No worries buddy. Just as Wayshak changes the rules by bringing out the beauty of ugliness, we also have to change our rules for the terms we use to praise that work. I don't think Jonathan would have it any other way. Thanks for the comment my friend, stay safe.
