Hawkman No. 8 Cover

This is the original art for the cover of Hawkman No. 8 (June-July 1965), which has always been my favorite of the Murphy Anderson Hawkman covers. After having a few discussions with owners of other Anderson Hawkman covers as to which one is the best, I feel somewhat vindicated by the choice of this Hawkman image by the United States Postal Service for the Hawkman stamp in the July 2006 D.C. Super-Hero stamp set. Of course, some of the images of other D.C. characters were less than inspired choices, but I like to think that whoever picked out the Hawkman image had incredibly good taste in art.
