At HeroesCon 2018, Kathy, Rebecca and I were wandering the floor and stopped to visit with Yale Stewart of JL8 fame.

As we were chatting, Rebecca was flipping through his JL8 OA to see what she might see. I was watching out of the corner of my eye and noticted that she spent a great deal of time looking at this piece. You see, she spent six years riding and only stopped because of college and "real" life. She still loves horses. I - being a dad - made a mental note.

Not terribly long after that Rebecca bought her first home. At about the same time, Yale had a sale and I bought this piece as a house warming gift for the party we knew she would have after she'd fixed her place up a bit. The previous owners were in their mid-90s and had done nothing in the decades of living there.

Well, the fixup took longer than expected and party hasn't happened due to Covid-19, but I decided to give it to her anyway since we were hanging other art at her place.

She told me that she'd seen Yale's sale, too, and had gone to the page to buy this work, but it was already gone and she was sad. She's sad no longer. :)

The center of the piece is an homage to Frank Miller's scene from the Dark Knight Returns which you can see to the right of the OA and the print.

Oh, yes, you can also see that Bruce's rival is a real stud. :)

I love Yale's JL8 and this is an awesome example. I know you will continue to enjoy this a long time.
