Description

This is a bit of a dream project for me. I've been a fan of Superman since I was a kid. Since the inception of sketch covers, I've wanted to put my own take on The Man of Steel. With his 80th birthday in 2018, and this amazing variant released, I couldn't pass it up. Yeah, I'm two years late but hey better late than never. Basically I've already transferred the image I did on a separate sheet onto the sketch cover surface with 3H Staedler. Clark is suiting up racing speeding bullets. I admit this cover is a little more challenging than previous because his face and head are hidden behind the title. But it's not a problem; what was necessary was centering his family crest. I'm even throwing in a bullet bouncing off that "S" as he's running to save an innocent victim. More as it develops, as this will take me a while to get everything right. As you can also see I'm trying to inject some realism into the body via creases and folds on the tunic as the upper torso is twisted slightly towards the camera. More as it develops.
