Red Sonja triptych: Arm-Wrestling for Beer in a New York Bar

Sonja is transported to New York City, where she has neither beer nor any money to buy beer. So of course she arm-wrestles for ale and beats the bragging muscle-man double-or-nothing.
In the first page, there is a subtle sign in the bar that reads, "Beer. Helping ugly people have sex since 18..").
I wonder if that joke was in original script or if it was the artist that snuck it in?
