Judge Dredd Cover 30 - Tom Lyle

There has always been a noticeable difference between comic art produced by British artists versus their American counterparts. I think some of that, at least in part, has to do with the fact that British comics artists are expected to be able to do the entire art job, pencils AND inks, so they come with different approaches than American artists, most of whom rely on different artists to do the finished work. But Brian Bolland aside, I have to say that Lyle's work here on this cover really well suits the British aesthetic perfectly! If it weren't signed, I'd have assumed it to be done by a Brit.

A beautiful piece of art. I love the style of Judge Dredd and this is a great example of how to draw him. Very cool cover, Creep!

I'm totally up for giving Tom Lyle (and this excellent cover) some love.  Lyle was an amazing artist, and I am extremely grateful for the Spidey and Venom pieces of his that I have managed to acquire over the years.
