Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why?
Unfortunately it is a page that I still have listed under sold items, it’s a page from Spectacular Spider-Man 78 page 20 by Al Milgrom and Jim Mooney. I have traded and sold many pieces to fellow collectors and don’t regret any, but this one. It was my first piece of art and when I sold it to a fellow collector I was promised the piece will be treasured and so on, shortly after he had sold the piece to some other collector who still has the page. It’s a sweet Spider-Man and Black Cat page.
How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
I started collecting in the late 90s. Total different world back then. Before I was collecting comic books, but got so disappointed about other collectors and grades of books that I left this completely behind and started my interest in art which got more and more present at cons and such back then. Hooked ever since and became a very early member of CAF and the rest is history.
How do you display/store your collection at home?
I have about 50 pieces framed, the rest is in portfolios or art boxes, or simply on stacks.
What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?
I am looking for anything Spectacular Spider-Ham from the original series. This has always been a focus if mine. Why? I can’t explain, I simply like it and those stories were not graphic novel but fun books, and this seems often forgotten with other books. Simple gags are fun as well. You don’t need a story arch over 3 different titles, with 20 variant cover, over 30 issues. Give me a book to read and have fun.
