Description

Classic story "The Man Who Falls" written by Dennis O'Neil and illustrated by Dick Giordano. This 16 page story builds on elements from Detective Comics #33, "Year One" by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, "The Untold Legend of the Batman" by Len Wein, John Byrne, and Jim Aparo, and other classic Batman stories. Christopher Nolan acknowledged that this story served as direct inspiration for his 2005 Batman Begins movie with Christian Bale.

Originally published in the Secret Origins of the World's Greatest Super-Heroes book from 1989. The story was later reprinted in the Batman Begins movie adaptation TPB in 2005 and was also published as a mini comic that was included with the Batman Begins DVD set.

One of my favorite stories retelling the origin of Batman.

How about that 1st panel??? One of my favorite Batman panels ever.

That first panel is stunning, but I do like the rest of the page as well. Giordano may be famous for his inking, but he also knew how to lay out a great story!
