Description

The opening page of Catwoman #3. Dr Leslie Thompkins is having a nightmare (the 4:26 is the time on her digital alarm clock). After a few pages of a nightmare sequence, Catwoman crawls through the window to wake her and ask about recent murders.

I have spent a lot of time looking at how Darwyn dealt with the challenges of the light sources and shadows in this. It is a good puzzle and satisfying example of the possibilities of the genre.

I was eager to buy this page because Cooke's Catwoman books are my absolute favourite for art and I own one other page from the same issue. I had hoped to put some of the sequences back together, but then prices of Darwyn's Catwoman pages suddenly added an extra zero. That ship sailed, but I count myself very lucky to own two pages from the same book!
