DescriptionI'll get a better scan up for this one, but I wanted to post a piece today in honor of Mike Wieringo, my favorite comic artist ever.I've written this elsewhere, but Mike drew the world the way I wanted it to be - buoyant, animated and full of life. His Spider-Man evolved a lot over the years, but was still my definitive Spidey artist growing up, and then the Waid FF run... I could talk about that run forever. I wish I could have met him, but I didn't really fathom that fans could meet their creative heroes until after he passed. Here's some of his outstanding work - Blue and regular pencils, with Six-Arm Spidey getting the drop on Morbius. Social/Sharing |

Lovely write-up. Mike is still one my favorite artists, and it's still sad that he was taken when he was. I never got to meet him either (our convention paths never crossed), but from all accounts, he was a generally awesome guy (on top of being a talented artist/storyteller). Thanks for sharing the story and the art!

Thanks, Kin - that's all I've heard, too. Definitely had a big impact on me as a kid and a young adult - he, JRJR and Bagley were my definitive Spideys, and no one does Ben Grimm better (I know you love that FF run as much as I do). He'll always be my #1 artist. Appreciate the comment.
