I remain resolute in my quest to mine every possible 'Thing' team-up scenario as source material for my Marvel Two in One gallery. Case in point, a jaunt through some old toy listings a few years back bore fruit in uncovering a couple of items squarely in the wheelhouse of my "Thing and..." comic art theme.

Pictured at left is the "Classic Marvel Battles & Team-Ups" toy with the Thing and Wolverine, one in a series of six issued by Schylling in 2005. The back of the package warns those 8 years and up to prepare themselves for "marvels without measure and scenes of mind-staggering fantasy". As exciting as all that sounds for a toy that involves squeezing a metal band to make two figures flip back and forth, I thought it was necessary to ask Chris Marrinan to beef up that scenario by expanding on the idea that Ben and Logan are connected and 'teaming up' to escape some kind of diabolical trap. I particularly like the little skulls floating in the energy pit below.

Chris Marrinan's great pencils were made even greater by the stylish inks of Bill Anderson. I recommend both artists highly.
