Description

I had the opportunity to meet writer/artist/legend Howard Chaykin at Roubaix Comics Festival 2019. To be honest, I haven't read much of his work at this point in time - mostly devouring his Star Wars work early on as a kid.

Of course, he's known for having penciled & inked the eleven (?) first issues of "Star Wars" by Marvel in the 70s, but he has grown ever since those. Unfortunately, he stills gets linked to that primarily, instead of "American Flag", "Black Kiss" & so much more.

After his recent comments on his Star Wars work and hating being linked to it - that rant even went viral, I really wanted a Luke Skywalker. He agreed, but only due to a fun angle I had. He did a Luke now, I'll catch up to his work & get more "enlighted" as he said himself, & ask something else in April at FACTS where I'll see him too. What a man. Truly a legend.
