Oh, boy, do I love Justin Mason's dynamic work & storytelling. You can just feel the urgency and speed in this excellent commission. I knew I wanted something odd by Justin, and when we got talking about Star Wars, he mentioned never having drawn an X-Wing yet.

And that was the prompt: do me an X-Wing. I never imagined him doing an extra panel in this commission with Red 5 Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 in the back. Here as well, I love the speed lines, very manga-esque inspired. A nice touch is that some of the elements of the cockpit were first drawn digitally and then pasted on top of the full blown commission, as stats.

Justin's a great guy and a great artist to work with. Since getting this piece, he has been getting some work on TMNT, I believe, but I'm sure a lot more will follow for him. Size is 9x12.
