Description

A reward from Jim Rugg's latest kickstarter to support the publication of his comic 'Octobriana 1976'.

Octobriana is a soviet superhero, who may, or may not, have been created by Russian dissidents in the late 1950s. You can read about her existence, or non-existence, and the samizdat of the Progressive Political Pornography in Peter Sadecky's book 'Octobriana and Russian Underground' (1971).

I've a soft spot for the character, since I first encountered her in Bryan Talbot's 'The Adventures of Luther Arkwright'.

Rugg's blacklight screenprint rendition of her is absolutely on point and very 1976..!
