Description

A very science fictional image from Emsh for the cover to the Edmond Hamilton story (Ace Double, 1959). A GIGANTIC gun (Death Star anybody?) blasts away at the Sun as a frightened populace flees their domed cities. I also love how Emsh framed the Sun with an abstract blue "mushroom cloud" silhouette, symbolizing ultimate destruction.

Sure did!  Can't remember when I traded it away, but it is a very nice example of an Emsh Ace "D" cover!

This piece clearly inspired Johnny Bruck when he painted the cover of the German PERRY RHODAN episode #5 in 1961.
