Description

After the passing of Bernie Wrightson I wanted to commission a piece in his honor. After reviewing some different pieces I came up with the idea of combining the demons from Bernie's terrifying painting that appeared on the back cover of Badtime Stories with a Neal Adams image of the Spectre from the 1977 Super DC Calendar. I approached artists extraordinaire Mike DeCarlo and Tom Mandrake to the Spectre and the demons, respectively, on a double blank page spread in the Spectre Archives Vol. 1. Both artists previously worked on the Spectre at different times. The result is a wonderful homage piece.
