That looks like a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Thing in a DC comic, imo. Very cool, and neat page. Congrats!
I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw that last panel. Too bad there wasn't dialog about Yancy Street or being clobbered. But whether is was intended or not... I'll take it as a wink and a nod.
One of the things I liked best about Kyle Rayner's run as GL was the inventive use of his powers ! Your cool page is a great example of it !
